Safe Connection is Christchurch's only supervised contact service offering both centre-based and community-based supervised visits.
Our mission is to ensure that all children have safe access to connect with their family, creating happy memories that positively impact their well-being and development.
Our commitment is to uphold the highest standards to ensure the safety and best interests of children.
We are an approved service by the Ministry of Justice and Aotearoa Association of Supervised Contact Service (ANZASCS).
Our Values
Supervised contact is facilitated by professional supervisors to ensure a safe environment for children to build a relationship with the non-custodial family member in difficult situations. Visits are usually referred and funded by the Family Court, but we also provide private visit options.
What is 'Supervised Contact'?
Neutral & Safe Space
Your child's safety and enjoyment are our top priorities, both in our space and beyond.
Our centre is located at the Phillipstown Community Hub, where children can enjoy a variety of fun, age-appropriate games and activities during their visit.
We also provide supervised contact at public venues such as libraries, museums, playgrounds, beaches, cafes, and more.
Subject to approval by the Family Court and lawyers on a case-by-case basis.
